St. Barnabas Hospital
Bronx, NY
O’Donnell & Naccarato is currently providing engineering services for the façade repairs to two wings of the hospital that is located on the Bronx Campus of St. Barnabas Hospital. Both wings are 9-Stories tall with a combined floor plan square footage of 70,000 SF. The original hospital building dates back to 1875 and is designed in the Georgian style. The hospital addition dates to 1950 and is designed in the Brutalist style. Both structures required atypical repair details to accommodate the distinct styles and materials of the structures. Our initial assessment consisted of a combination of visual investigations and up-close investigations from an aerial lift. Phase one repair work is currently underway and will address masonry deterioration at the highest priority locations. The facade repairs include flashing improvements, brick replacement, stone repair, steel repairs, and sealant replacement.
