Project Overview
O’Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering for an expansive, world-class animal wellness center for the Humane Society for Hamilton County in the city of Fishers, IN. The new center is pushing boundaries, designed to offer better quality of life for the animals in its care, as well as space to launch new programs that will connect people with the healing power of pets. The 40,000 SF facility includes 140+ dog kennels and 100+ cat enclosures, as well plenty of room for walking trails on its 10 acre wooded site. Structural design elements include steel frame and masonry bearing walls with a large canopy at the lobby with sloping columns.
