Robert Wood Johnson Garage

O’Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for the phased restoration of the parking garage located at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick NJ. The garage is a 4-story, 225,000 SF, conventional reinforced concrete structure. The garage required vertical, overhead, partial and full-depth repairs at isolated locations on each level of the structure. Acting as both the self-park and valet garage for the hospital, the coordination between O&N, the onsite parking staff and the restoration contractor was critical throughout all phases of the repair. A traffic bearing membrane system was applied over the slabs once repairs were complete to extend the service life of the garage and minimize future deterioration.
