B.Labs

Brandywine Realty Trust teamed up with the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center of Bucks County to create B.Labs, a life science incubator at Cira Centre.

The 3-story, 60,000 SF space is designed to provide collaboration and research space for startup, early-stage, and established biotech and pharmaceutical companies. An event space on the second floor of the Cira Centre and incubator space on the third and fourth floors features premier lab space with the latest equipment and technology.

O&N provided consulting structural engineering services for a concept feasibility study to support spaces for the life science tenants research and laboratory space. Assessment of the existing floor framing on the 4th and 5th levels in the building, reinforcement designs of floor framing for large mechanical ductwork penetrations on multiple floor levels, and new floor framing designs to create a large opening on 2 levels for a communicating stair help to create a high-quality, innovative lab space.
