Project Overview
The 5-story 363,000 SF, composite steel-framed structure is a state of the art medical center with 146 patient beds. The 5-story open atrium features a sloped front glass wall necessitating two 100’ long trusses – one vertical vierendeel and one horizontal to resist the gravity and lateral loads. The southeast corner of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery features a sloped precast concrete facade, which induced substantial horizontal thrust that required careful analysis and design of adjacent structural members.
The LEED NC v2.2 Silver Certified hospital was voted fifth ‘Most Beautiful Hospital in America’ in a 2013 Soliant Health survey.
