O’Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for the adaptive reuse of the iconic Venturi, Scott Brown-designed “Decorated Shed”. The rejuvenated, 145,917 SF building provides more useable space with the addition of 2 new stories inserted within the interior of the building. The new floors do not dramatically increase the structure’s lateral load or modify the building’s beloved exterior. Drexel University’s departments of fashion and product design, merchandising, interior design, architecture, as well as programs in digital media and entertainment and arts management inhabit the revitalized space.
