Schematic level structural design and documentation services for the expansion to the existing healthcare facility consisting of a new four-story plus basement, 176,000 SF Bed Tower. The cast-in-place concrete tower consists of four above-grade levels to house 120 patient beds, including 30 post-partum rooms, 44 intensive-care unit rooms on two floors and 14 neonatal ICU rooms. Of the four floors, one floor is shell space available for future expansion, while another floor is partially below-grade level to primarily house a central utility plant. The new tower directly abuts the existing hospital, requiring 4,770 SF of renovations at the First Floor of the existing building.
