Northwell Health Zucker Hillside Psychiatric Hospital

O’Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for the 2-story psychiatric inpatient hospital delivered on a fast-track schedule. The 115,000 SF, 108-bed facility features a curving rotunda entrance, and includes a partial basement.

Organized around a central courtyard with landscaped therapy gardens, the building serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in individual wings within the complex. The innovative corridor system separates patients, staff and visitors into three distinct zones, increasing patient and staff safety, while decreasing the institutional feel of the building.
